Before a stone company can produce the stone for your project, they need detailed design drawings. This is something which few architects can provide, and for which planning drawings are totally inadequate. Obtaining these drawings from the stone supplier, who generally provides them, will add a significant, and often unforeseen cost to the project.

Specialist Stone Designs will produce all necessary detailed drawings for your project for considerably less.

With over 40 years of experience in designing, working and fixing stone, we have a proven expertise. Our profound understanding of this unique and versatile material underpins all our designs. We offer you the complete or partial design of all possible projects involving stone: private houses of all sizes, extensions and other buildings of all types and varieties.

We also undertake design and drawing work for renovations or enhancements, such as porticoes, orangeries, bay windows, stairs, fireplaces, anything.

Services by Specialist Stone Designs

All stone buildings or features, whether entirely stone, or brick and stone, will need every single element drawing accurately, so that the stone company will know what size to cut the block, and the masons will know what shape and size of mouldings to work into it.

Detailed dimensioning and plans are required to ensure accurate fixing on site, and all stones need an identifying code so that they can be tracked through production, then transported to site, stored and fixed.

Specialist Stone Design drawings include all this information, and will provide the reliable reference point from which all the stones are produced, and the entire structure is built.

We meet with our clients as often as necessary, discussing ideas and revising drawings until all is satisfactory.

We also include all necessary liaison with stone producers, building inspectors and structural engineers, as well as any contractors involved in the construction.

References are available from previous clients, and buildings which we have designed can be visited if desired.
